A memorable onsen hotel

Stayed in this onsen for 2 nights
It is in the centre of Kochi. A tall building with commanding view over the city, including the castle (with a direct white light outside the onsen area with a switch inside the building that shines on the castle if we press on it!)
We stayed in a traditional styled room on the floor directly below the onsen. It was beautiful, cosy, and warm. We slept well on the tatami that laid out for us.
The breakfast was included in the our price, with a decent choice or both western and Japanese choices. We were full enough not to really require lunch afterwards.
The onsen experience was awesome too. There were three pools: one indoor / warm, one indoor / cold, and one outdoor / warm. All were worth trying (although the cold isn’t for the faint hearted!)
And as always, the staff were impeccably polite, courteous, and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

You'll meet real hospitality.

I am impressed by the well-maintained rooms. I felt that every word of the employees in particular was heartfelt. Whether it is a public bath, dinner, breakfast or amenities, I think it is perfect. Oh yes, the sukiyaki with potato kempi is the best.

The hotel offers traditional Japanese hospitality in a renovated setting. The view from the rooftop bath is amazing as well as the kaiseki cuisine.

Beautiful Stay in Lovely Kochi!

The Jyoseikan is conveniently located quite close to Kochi Castle & Hirome Market. The city has an efficient bus system and taxis are widely available. The hotel offers a very nice breakfast buffet featuring specialty foods of Kochi. The Japanese style room was very large and spacious. We interacted with several staff members who were all competent, helpful & friendly. Domo Arigato to Yuko who who provided us with exceptional service as she assisted us with our Kochi Touring plans. Yuko also arranged for us to watch a live demonstration at the hotel of the preparation of Seared Tataki (Bonito), the special seared sashimi dish that Kochi is famous for.
We timed our visit to include the Kochi Sunday Market which has been held for 300 years. We also recommend Makino Botanical Garden and Chikurin-ji Temple.
We had a wonderful and memorable time in Kochi!

The hotel is conveniently located close to Kochi Castle & Hirome Market. Great buffet breakfast featuring specialty foods of Kochi. All the staff here provided exceptional service. Domo Arigato to Yuko who went above and beyond every day in assisting with our Kochi City touring plans. We had a wonderful visit in Kochi!
