Afternoon Tea Review - It is a Yes from me

Four of us had booked the afteroon tea for a Saturday afternoon. The staff were polite and showed us to a lovely large coffee table with sofas by a log fire in the lounge. Very relaxing. The sandwiches were all lovely and "normal" flavours. I have been to several place where the sandwiches and cake seem to be an experiment in customer tollerence. The Sandwiches, Cakes, Fruit Scones were all excellent. You get a good portion for th price charged. Do not go for tea if you have eaten lunch ! The old estate mansion hotel grounds and building are very nice. A classy afternoon out. Summary - This is the best afternoon tea in the last 10 years I can remember.

Lovely Hotel

We had a one night stay for my wife's Birthday room was spacious and clean, breakfast was very good. All round lovely hotel and had a wonderful stay, Stayed for a wonderful afternoon tea the next day just let down by the really really poor service had to constantly get up and go and find staff!!. after serving the afternoon tea staff were not existent, asked for a coffee and after a 25 minute wait had to get and go and find staff AGAIN!! who had forgotten the coffee!!!!. When we needed to pay had to go and find staff again and ended up going into the kitchen to get attention .Ruined an otherwise lovely afternoon tea. Guests waiting in the bar next to us were looking for staff too.

Wonderful Weekend

A perfect stay (again) at Hintlesham Hall Hotel. This time with our daughter and partner. Lovely rooms, lovely staff and a terrific dinner on Friday. We were blessed with fabulous Spring weather, so could we enjoy Beth Chatto gardens and Flatford Mill. Nice to end Saturday evening in the Library with an open fire, a brandy and the pianist playing. We’ll be back!

Amazing food and Property, with lovely people with stunning grounds and not too stuffy.

This place was amazing from start to finish of our weekend Valentines break. When we turned up the places looked lovely and couldn’t fault the room. The lady on front desk was so friendly and helpful taking us to our room. Although we had paid for the extra flowers, champers and chocolate they were exceptional. The room was very large plenty of space and very comfy (Apple Store Room).
We had dinner and breakfast in their large glamorous dining hall, food was again amazing and service was on point and not too stuffy. We also explored the House and gardens which were stunning and well restored, you can see money has been spent well here. We will definitely be back. Thankyou for a wonderful time.

Worth trying - once!

Fantastic setting and was please to visit for Sunday lunch. As you may
expect price for a standard Sunday roast is somewhat higher than many others in the area. Whilst the food offering was acceptable I do wish they would just use normal white plates, perhaps just a personal preference but the ones used are are coloured platters - just too small and being coloured do not do the food any favours.
Given that food and wine for 2 came t just over £100 I do not think the ( discretionary) 12.5% service charge is acceptable. and probably relies on guests just accepting it.
Service is already being paid for within the price of the meal & wine, if service goes beyond what is expected then a tip is reasonable to acknowledge this.
On balance I am pleased to have visited but will not rush back as there are so many more places to visit.
On a positive note I will say that the wedding package look to be really good value for largess parties of 50 guests.
