100% would recommend!

It was our first time visiting St. John's so we didn't know where to stay. I chose this hotel based on the online reviews and its location on the Google Maps. The reviews did not disappoint!!
The hotel is located right on the water. Our room overlooked Signal Hill. The hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are extremely professional.
All downtown activities are easily walkable from this location. We walked to The Rooms (uphill, but walkable), George Street, and multiple eateries and shops.
There is both a cafe and a restaurant on site. The cafe is open into the lobby, which is a hub of activity for hotel guests and passers by. Other cafe patrons were so friendly that on two separate occasions we made friends with people while hanging out in the lobby. It is a comfortable space where people work on laptops and socialize (or play board games - which are provided for free by the hotel).
We are especially thankful for the staff. Our flights were delayed multiple times, so we didn't arrive to the hotel until 3 AM. The young man at the front desk was so welcoming and helped reassure us as we struggled with the fog of jet lag!
The cleaning staff were very friendly whenever we met them in the hallway. They even folded the bed sheets and made a nest for my daughter's teddy bear when they took care of our room.
In particular, we had a wonderful chat with Justin about local berries. He is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Newfoundland.
I can't say enough great things about this place! 100% would recommend without any hesitation!!

Welcoming, amazing staff at a well-designed hotel in a perfect location - by the harbour.

The staff and service were amazing! I have travelled extensively and the service and people at this hotel were top-notch - friendly, helpful, and warm. The location on Water St. can’t be beat, and a room with a view over the harbour is worth the little extra. The design and details were wonderful, from the glass puffin shower wall, to the modern touches with lighting, etc., to the full wall of photos in the lobby that, on closer inspection, are a massive collection of scenes from across the province. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Awesome night at the alt!

Room was very modern, clean and comfortable!! Facilities were very nice. Parking garage has low entrance, bigger vehicles will not be able to enter but you can park outside no problem. Nicely situated downtown, everything close walking distance.

Would love to have stayed longer!!

A really nice stay here with an extremely friendly staff. Have to give special kudos to Terry at the front desk who was so friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the area and to Rose in the bar/restaurant who made me feel like family, The location was great and the room clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities. The restaurant looks out over the harbor which was a nice plus!!

Very comfortable, modern and enjoyable stay. Everything we needed in the room. Great location. Staff could not have been better. Very helpful and friendly. We would stay there again.
